THE TRANSIT OF KETU IN LEO
Ketu
Ketu is the oppositional counterpart to Rahu, also known as the North Node. Ketu or the South Node encapsulates that feeling of déjà vu – where we just know we’ve been somewhere before or met someone before. In the full embodiment of the placement, we are shown the parts of ourselves that feel most natural to act out. We all come into this world with skills and instincts that seem natural. You may even feel like you don’t remember how you learned them, but that they’ve just always been. It’s not that we need to reject these valuable traits, but that we are learning how to utilize them with boundaries and discernment.
Whichever house Ketu is transiting is going through a rite of passage. When you graduate from high school, you are being initiated out of childhood and into the adult world. In the same way, when you complete a Ketu cycle you are being initiated into a new way of life too. Much like graduation you are being asked to leave an old way of thinking behind – not because it is irrelevant, but because the goal is to learn to harness your gifts with maturity and refinement. Comfortability is what’s being challenged here, so you may experience mixed feelings around what is being released.
When Ketu transits Leo, the theme of the ceremony is visibility, ego, and creativity. There’s a myth that we can control the way we are perceived, if we limit our own visibility. Leo is ruled by the Sun and when the Sun shines, people bear witness to all that was previously dimmed or hidden. Ketu’s transit invites you to release the need to be received well. You are no longer going to allow your self-concept to be determined by the perception of others and you will do so with confidence. Rejection just won’t have the same sting. What area of your life needs warmth and visibility? What boundaries can you create with yourself to make room for your own authenticity?
Possibilities // Sidereal Rising
Aries Rising//11th House
Sometimes you derive pleasure from having the thing that everybody wants. Eventually, you lose interest because deep down, it was more about being seen with the thing instead of enjoying it for yourself. Now is the time to get real about what you want to be doing with your time, energy, creativity, and desire. Being envied will not feel as good as being true to yourself. Being first is short-lived bliss if your heart isn’t in it. How can you be more honest with yourself about what brings you joy when no one is watching?
Taurus Rising//4th House
You’re as loyal as they come. In turn, your people are just as loyal to you—even when they know you’re being a little self-serving. Let’s face it—someone must be concerned with prioritizing your interests, right? There are expectations being lost in the comfort of routine—especially the idea that people close to you should just know what you need. You can advocate for yourself before it gets messy by speaking up when you recognize the tension building. How can you recognize when your needs aren’t met before you’ve reached your limit?
Gemini Rising//3rd House
You are hard to beat when it comes to keeping conversation interesting in nearly every room you enter. People are intrigued by your mental agility and know you to be a clever storyteller. There will always be that tough crowd who prefers a roast to a toast, though—which leaves you with self-deprecation as your only lifeline. Maybe they just don’t really like you, and that’s okay. Detachment is easy for you when you remember that not every room is cold. Who would you be if you weren’t performing for others?
Cancer Rising//2nd House
You may not love to be needed, but damn are you good at it. Everybody knows they can count on you to be compassionate towards their plight. You’re getting better at sensing when there is an imbalance in the way you are received, and it’s reflected back to you in the way you begin to question your own self-worth. As you are devalued, your energy depletes and your charisma becomes a mask for resentment. It all starts with you. What are your non-negotiables when it comes to how you value yourself?
Leo Rising//1st House
No doubt you’ve learned to accept that no matter what, people are going to be paying attention to whatever it is that you are doing. You are always going to draw attention, which can be especially unforgiving during times when you are not your best. You didn’t lose respect just because you lost your footing. It is your ability to rise again while still being your true self that people admire most. You can still be that bright light. It’s time to invite attention with intention. Which version of you gets to take the lead from here?
Virgo Rising//12th House
It happens far too often that a prodigy gets ridiculed just for doing things well. Often enough for you to have continued developing yourself behind the scenes. With everything flowing naturally, you just as easily forget how talented you are. Your logic becomes deceptive without reality to check it. It’s also too easy to become overcritical when you’re stuck in your mind-palace. The only dreams that stay are the ones that survive outside of the fantasy you might be entertaining. What becomes possible when you release the need for perfection?
Libra Rising//11th House
You are often praised for your ability to develop strong connections with people, even while keeping a busy social schedule. Distance doesn’t damage the link because your vibe keeps the bond alive. When the signal lags, you tend to take it upon yourself to adjust to what the relationship demands to survive as if to say, "The show must go on!" The dream can’t come true if you don’t have room for it. People who only half-wish you well can block your success. Who gets access to the dream you’re working towards?
Scorpio Rising//10th House
You are known to see through pretense, which makes finding solutions easier. You are quick to investigate your suspicions and form your own conclusions. The danger here is unchecked assumptions. The lesson is also timing: it’s not always important to prove to everyone you solved the mystery ages ago. That urge is revealing where the need to be right is tangled up with the need to be recognized for it. The truth will be revealed, even without your intervention. How can you remain confident when someone else takes credit for your work?
Sagittarius Rising//9th House
You’re someone who can be readily accepted somewhere else despite also being completely out of place. You acclimate so well that you begin to forget how it felt to be new. There comes a time in everyone’s journey when they leave the pond they swim in for a larger, or perhaps more distant pond. Truth is subjective and requires inner conviction—not outward approval. Some gurus outlast their purpose, and that’s okay. You are allowed to change your mind when new insight inspires. What long-standing beliefs are you beginning to question?
Capricorn Rising//8th House
The legacy you are building is multifaceted. Every moving piece plays a larger role that is integral to the blueprint. Some aspects look much better on paper than they are in real life. There’s nothing stable about keeping up appearances because facades always end up cracking in time. Those cracks then become visible in the foundation, and then the ideal crumbles. It’s hard to detach when it feels like regression into a former version of yourself. How can you let go when it challenges how you think others see you?
Aquarius Rising//7th House
Your relationships usually revolve around the expectations that you set. You are good at keeping enough distance from others to maintain your identity, which often shapes the relationship more than you realize. Everybody is getting recast right now, not necessarily replaced. The new you requires different types of exchanges than before, but those dynamics are still being discovered. That’s okay, though, because you thrive in the abstract—but what about the other people in your life? How are your new boundaries changing the way you mirror, connect, and find balance with others?
Pisces Rising//6th House
You love taking care of others' needs. So much so that such noble acts take up noticeable space in your daily routine. It’s easy for you to fill up your schedule with little to no time to center what you need to live sustainably. Giving these resources away without replenishing yourself will leave you feeling depleted and unseen. Burnout happens the minute you forget to pause before saying yes to everything. You can’t pour from an empty cup. What would make you walk away from a routine that isn’t working for you?
