Disclaimer: As someone very much new to Vedic Astrology, I wanted to utilize the knowledge and research I did to make this post. I apologize in advance for shortening some parts of it as Vedic Astrology itself has a lot of lore and mythology that I’m not accustomed to and am still learning.

PLEASE NOTE There are mentionings of destruction of civilizations being conflated with a cleansing as it relates to healing. However, it is only used in the context of astrology in this fictional setting.

You’ll find me making connections between the story that is occurring in Honkai: Star Rail and how it relates to its chart. I’m not well-versed in applying Vedic Astrology to businesses and entities so you will find how I relate it to the overall Honaki: Star Rail lore only.

THE ANALYSIS

The most obvious objects and aspects I can point out is the stellium in Aries between Sun, Rahu, Mercury, Jupiter and the stellium of the Ascendant, Moon, and Mars in Gemini.

But we’ll start with the astrological breakdown, and then move onto relating it to the Honkai: Star Rail storyline.

ARIES/ SUN/ RAHU/ JUPITER/ ASHWINI

To start off, when looking at the connection between the Sun, Rahu, and Jupiter, all three are interconnected in the Nakshatra (Lunar Mansion) of Ashwini. Ahwini itself is ruled by the opposing planet of Rahu that we know as Ketu.

When we have this strong connection between the Sun and Rahu, we can tell that while this game and its story was in development there was a lot of potential to reach higher.

ARIES

Is a sign governed by the planet Mars and is given the symbol of the ram. Aries on its own is very action oriented, reactionary, ready to move and then it’s onto the next thing. The first to arrive but never quite ready to leave. Aries is passionate, driven by the fiery power of Mars. The embodiment of: ready, aim, fire.

When applying a planetary object such as the SUN onto it, these qualities have practically combusted, more oil has been added to the fire to keep them going. The Sun represents the ego, the self, the purpose, the father. The Sun shines bright and anything that falls under its light is only amplified to fulfill its purpose. JUPITER also falls within this nakshatra and its large size can be associated with what it is able to expand on, where it gathers knowledge, and wisdom. With Jupiter here it will garner all things here with the most positive outlook.

RAHU

Is a malefic object. A demon. The head of the dragon and only that. it loves to create a spectacle by going against the grain, blatantly ignoring the social norms. Rahu is great at creating illusions, and concealing the truth. It's because of this that they are always associated with smoke. Rahu is also responsible for technology, industrial revolution, deception, obsession, and materialism.

Depending on a multitude of factors the qualities of Rahu can be balanced, positive, or negative. However, we are only talking about this chart in particular so I will only divulge more in relation to this chart only.

ASHWINI

Is the nakshatra in which the aforementioned objects fall in. Ashwini is ruled by the twin gods Ashwini Kumaras.

They are known as the physicists to the gods and symbolized by the horse. The secondary symbol to this Nakshatra is honey. The Nakshatra itself is ruled by Ketu. As previously mentioned, RAHU which lies within this nakshatra, loves to go against what’s deemed socially acceptable. Healing therefore can be someone who is more inclined to alternative medicines, holistic, chinese, reiki, sound baths, tarot…etc.

Because healing is a broad term any one of these alternatives could be healing.

Ashwini is the final destination for Rahu. So in its final moment it must do just that, heal.

Because Ashwini is here to facilitate change, as it is the harbinger of dawn and symbolizes the first light of day.

With dawn brings newness, hope, spiritual awakenings, the power over darkness. With each day Ashwini will be here to set forth a new day.

MANIFESTATIONS

THE XIANZHOU // THE LUOFU // IMMORTALITY

Relating the astrological subjects we’ve covered so far to the HSR storyline, we see many aspects of healing, action, obsession, newness, ego, and identity.

When we play as Stelle/CaelusTrailblazer, we are setting out to heal the world from the new life we have been given.

Cleansing various worlds of the StellaronThe Cancer of all Worlds. And as we set out on our journey with the Astral Express, we as the playable Trailblazer take on paths to partake in this healing.

Because it takes place in space, healing is once again very broad as its manifestations and applications vary from planet to planet.

We can also see when the aspect of healing is given in excess.

We experience this with the XIANZHOU LUOFU storyline, and learn of how the entire fleet of The Xianzhou is related to Yaoshi, the Aeon of Abundance. When Yaoshi blesses those on The Xianzhou with immortality.

What was once considered to be a gift to The Xianzhou is now the bain of its natives' existence. And so through Lan, the Aeon of The Hunt they seek to rid themselves of immortality.

“The relentless pursuit of individual immortality will only breed an unending multitude of malevolent creatures. Such is the fallacy of the Plagues Author” -Myriad Celestia Trailer History of the Xianzhou: Exodus of the Five Dragons

It is here in the Myriad Celestia Trailer that it is revealed that each Xianzhou ship has their own plaguemark from Yaoshi. Of which Five Vidyadhra elders are to keep watch over said plaguemarks. They are listed as such:

  • Caelorum Venti// Yaoqing: Watches over the Lunar Embryo
  • Ardens Regia// Zhuming: Watches over the Primordial Flame
  • Glaciator Marum// Fanghu: Watches over the Miniature Myriads
  • Mons Grandis// Yuque: Watches over the Fallow Earth
  • Imbibitor Lunae// Xianzhou: Watches over the Ambrosial Arbor

Some plaguemarks can be used to benefit the Xianzhou’s fleetships while others are the root cause of what the Xianzhou natives go through on a daily basis.

When speaking on obsession, the purpose of the Reignbow ArbiterLan is only provoked by the sheer existence of the Plagues Author Yaoshi.

When and if that time comes where the Plagues Author no longer exists, The Reignbow Arbiter will have no purpose for existence.

This alone embodies the concepts of Ashwini, Rahu, Aries, and The Sun. When identity is associated with one single purpose, the reason for its creation becomes obsolete once it has become fulfilled.

Furthermore, outsiders from various planets come to visit Xianzhou specifically to seek immortality. The obsession and lack of understanding of what immortality can do to those who are cursed with it, leads the ignorant to their own downfall once immortality has been obtained.

There are Xianzhou factions who embrace this “curse” and see it as the blessing it was when first gifted to them. Though obsession, stress, trauma, and more can accelerate immortality, causing those to be Mara-struck. This mara-struck condition can also be easily induced through medicinal pellets and pellet-infused smoke.

(If you recall, Rahu is associated with smoke, illusions, and creating false hopes.)

When speaking of technology, and industrial revolution, The Xianzhou Yuque utilizes the technology from the Plaguemark bestowed upon them by Yaoshi, is used for building infrastructure, starskiffs, Jade Abacus technology and more.

Healing within this context could also be conflated with cleansing. For example: Nanook, The Aeon of Destruction ascends to Aeonhood when witnessing the destruction of Their home world. Their ascension comes from the belief that the universe is a mistake and therefore They seek to destroy everything.

Ashwini is here to facilitate newness and change, it’s the reason why it is the bringer of dawn, the start of a new day. However, there is much more to this astrologically that will be covered in a later post.

AMPHOREUS // SEE YOU TOMORROW

In addition there is a word we often see and hear throughout the AMPHOREUS storyline. Dawn and Tomorrow

For example, the Dawn Device. Which was gifted to Kephale, who abandoned their throne to become a Ray of Light. It is utilized for astrology, assessing the shifts in light based on the positions of the world, and helps in reproducing crops during a specific time of year. It is responsible for giving light and establishing different concepts of times that are universally accepted across Amphoreus. Found within Amphoreus’ Calendar, we begin to understand how time is measured within Amphoreus. This is established with five distinct hours. I will list the five and briefly summarize Entry Hour.

  • Entry Hour
  • Lucid Hour/Ascent Hour
  • Action Hour/Descent Hour
  • Parting Hour, Curtain-Fall Hour

Entry Hour, is the hour of waking, where people come back into their bodies and begin their day.

Other parts of the story where this theme comes up is with TribiosTribbie Dawn and newness is often said with Tribbie more specifically from her infamous line: “See you tomorrow”

This interaction between Tribbie and Castorice. Tribbie: … just set it aside for tomorrow. Tribbie: There's no difference between demigods and mortals. The troubles we encounter can only be resolved by our future selves. Tribbie: Reflect through the long night, wait for the dawn as you think, then set off at daybreak. The hesitant part of us will be left behind in the dark, while the determined side of us will know no fear. Tribbie: Because that's how Tribios has journeyed so far to spread the prophecy... Tribbie: Beckoning the morning sun... and the tomorrow it promises to bring.

We cannot skip over the symbolism of the ram that makes frequent appearances throughout all of HSR.

Phainon is quite literally the sign of Aries and embodies all of what it means to be an Ashwini native.

The Golden Scapegoats allude to how Amphoreus is in a constant state of renewal revival, an endless cycle until the flame burns out. During the puzzles that occur with the Golden Scapegoat we are guided through how a meeting with the past (the self) will only incur our demise. However it is a necessary evil for when we do meet ourselves we must begin again.

We see this parallels Phainon’s overall character and background. He is the Golden Scapegoat. Phainon is the one who must overcome obstacles, he is the end and the beginning. The cycles he goes through are always a form of healing, a cleansing. To bring forth a new era.

Astrologically this might be an intuitive choice of the Sun and Rahu housing itself in Ashwini, a Ketu-ruled nakshatra. An endless cycle to continue to cleanse and heal.

In the Myriad Celestia Trailer — "A Night of Ever-Flame: Scene 33" | Ifrit the leader of The Annihilation Gang is summoned -through unknown means at the time- for the Charmony Festival. “The golden blood will flow from The Destruction as an offering to them Children of the flame… This marks your rite of passage.” With the image of a Ram bleeding out golden blood from the center. The pattern it makes is very similar to the symbolism we see within the Amphoreus storyline.

This could be pointing back directly to Phainon/Khaslana, and the "cleansing" that The Path of Destruction brings along with it. As we know, Ifrit the leader of The Annihilation Gang was born from the ashes of a White Star destroyed by Nanook. Born from the ashes of hatred, Ifrit established The Annihilation Gang to bring destruction to the world. This emphasizes my earlier point of how destruction can be conflated with cleansing and therefore considered a healing aspect since it is believed that nothing should exist by those who walk this Path.

AVENTURINE

Last but not least, we can look briefly at Aventurine

Ashwini, ruled by the twin gods who are the physicists to the gods, are known for their connection to the sick, bringing them to the new day, renewal, etc.. It is through the Sage Dadhichi that they learned the skills to make Soma in order to bring the living back from the dead.

This skill is known as Madhu Vidya also known as honey which is to be used for the purpose of healing. This is where Ashwini’s secondary symbolism comes from.

Aventurine comes from the planet of Sigonia-IV, there various clans that once lived on the planet of Sigonia-IV, one of them being known as Avgin.

The name Avgin comes from the Romani word meaning: Honey

Romani people are a group of Indo-Aryan peoples and traditionally speak Indo-Aryan languages.

Indo-Aryan peoples had migrated from Central Asia to South Asia. While there is much more history and geographical evidence, I am simply here to make the connection between Aventurine’s ethnic group and how it is a reflection back to real world circumstances and how it relates to astrology.

Going further into the history and subject matter of this would become quite convoluted.

While there is much to be discussed about Aventurine astrologically I will have to save that for a later post.

I’m sure if I kept going, I could find more examples of these specific atrological association throughout HSR readables and character lines and stories but these stood out the most to me.

If it’s not clear enough, the natal placements reflect heavily in the game's story line. We still have much to unpack in the Gemini Stellium. We’ll follow the same format of breaking things down astrologically and then relating it to the HSR storyline in PT II.
